This watercolor of one of the Thimble Islands in Long Island Sound off the
Connecticut shore was painted in 1988. It is not for sale. In it I see the inevitable
wearing away of man and his world, suggested by the wooden bench, contrasted
by the tree that has gained a foothold in such an inhospitable place.
